Eric Hoffer Book Award Winners

Previous winners of the Eric Hoffer Award for independent books are listed below for the various prize categories. Each year a small group of finalists is isolated for the grand prize round of judging. This is known as the "short list," which is announced publicly in the summer of each award year. In 2007, individual press honors were awarded for the first time. Beginning in 2008, the Montaigne Medal was additionally awarded. At the bottom of this page, you may read the award commentary for the most recent award winners. We respectfully ask that you give fair use when quoting our award winners.
